The City of Victor Harbor sought the community's views on its draft 2021/22 Annual Business Plan and Budget from 31 May 2021 until 21 June 2021.

Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget Overview

The draft 2021/22 Annual Business Plan describes how the City of Victor Harbor will allocate its budget and what services, programs and projects it intends to undertake during 2021/22 to further enhance Victor Harbor’s position as a place of choice to live, work, visit and invest in.

The draft budget forecasts a capital works program worth $16.6 million, offset by grants and other revenue totaling $2.6 million. While proposed operating expenditure of $30.1 million results in a deficit of just under $195,000.

Significant projects included in the draft Annual Business Plan include construction works for stage four of the Victor Harbor Mainstreet Precinct Upgrade (Ocean Street and Albert Place), car parking infrastructure in McKinlay Street, upgrade at the Victor Harbor Library, Waggon Road safety improvements and continuation of the Council’s partnership with Business Victor Harbor.

The draft budget shows Council increasing the fixed charge and all differential rate categories by 2.5%. For the average residential property this will mean a $48 increase compared to last year.

Deliberations Continue

Council's budget deliberations for 2021/22 are still underway with a workshop scheduled for 19 July 2021. The Council is working hard to ensure the budget is financially sustainable at the same time as meeting the needs of our community now and into the future.

Further updates on the budget process will be provided on this page as deliberations continue.
