About the Long Term Financial Plan

It is a legislative requirement for Council to develop and adopt a Long Term Financial Plan for a period of at least 10 years.

The Long Term Financial Plan is a key document within the City of Victor Harbor’s strategic management framework. It is the primary financial management tool which links together the Council’s Strategic Plan (Community Plan 2036), Asset Management Plans and the Annual Business Plan and Budget.

Reviewing the Long Term Financial Plan

The City of Victor Harbor has reviewed its Long Term Financial Plan and amended it to cover a period from 2019 until 2028.

The updated plan aims to assist Council to:

    ·  Deliver the objectives within its
    Community Plan 2036

    ·  Make decisions that are financially sustainable

    ·  Meet the needs and expectations of the community

    ·  Set appropriate levels of debt

    ·  Minimise rate increases

    ·  Ensure that each generation contributes to the cost of maintaining assets.

The review sets targets for Council’s budget to achieve that will ensure we maintain our financial sustainability.
