Franklin Parade Pedestrian Improvements

Consultation has concluded

The City of Victor Harbor is seeking your feedback on concept designs for pedestrian improvements on Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay. The improvements aim to make the interactions between pedestrians and vehicles safer along a 90m length of Franklin Parade (near the Yilki shops).

There are two options being considered

Option one proposes minimal changes with a small landscaped area adjacent to the Encounter Bikeway with a kerb ramp and narrowed crossing point for pedestrian crossing.

Option two is more involved and incorporates the use of landscaping, widened footpaths, shared parking and protected outdoor dining areas, as well as the narrowed crossing point.

The two concepts include stencilled asphalt with a contrasting colour to indicate to motorists the increased pedestrian activity in this area. Both options would require the street lighting to be upgraded and see the removal of two car park spaces for the pedestrian kerb ramp.

Download the concept options in the 'Document Library' to the right, or collect a hard copy from the Civic Centre at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.
