In November 2019 the public were consulted on what they would like to see on the Telstra Exchange Building wall. Based on this consultation a brief was developed and a broad invitation to artists was circulated seeking Expressions of Interests for the project.
A panel made up of elected members, staff and industry professionals assessed the eleven Expressions of Interests received and selected three artist teams to progress to the next stage. This stage involved the three artist teams being asked to develop a concept design and project proposal. The three artist teams submitted their proposals on 27 February 2020 with final selection occurring in March 2020.
The mural is on track to be completed and officially launched as part of the Easter Saturday festivities.
