Urban Growth Management Strategy
**To enable the community additional time to digest the proposal within the draft Urban Growth Management Strategy, the consultation has been extended to 5pm on Monday, 21 July 2025**
The population of Victor Harbor, and the surrounding suburbs, is expected to grow by approximately 8,000 people over the next 25 years. It is important that we manage growth over this period to remain a thriving community with a strong economy, without losing the character that makes Victor Harbor unique.
To do this, the City of Victor Harbor is embarking on a review of its Urban Growth Management Strategy (UGMS) to guide growth to 2050.
Last year a draft UGMS was prepared based on extensive investigations and community engagement. The draft UGMS was released for community and stakeholder consultation in October 2024 for a six week period. After considering what we heard through this consultation period, a number of changes have been made to the draft Urban Growth Management Strategy.
Before Council finalises the Strategy, we want to hear your feedback on the changes. A report outlining what we heard during the community consultation and a summary of the key changes to the draft UGMS have been prepared to assist you provide feedback on the updated draft UGMS.
