Consultation has concluded

The City of Victor Harbor is seeking public feedback on a proposal to renew the licence for the Victor Harbor Netball Club located at 1 George Main Road, Victor Harbor, commonly known as the Victor Harbor Oval Ground.

Background

The Victor Harbor Netball Club was officially established in 1969, celebrating its 50 anniversary this year. The Club is affiliated with the Great Southern Netball Association with 160 players participating in NetSetGo, junior and senior competitions. The Club’s objectives are to promote and expand the sport of netball in Victor Harbor through training and participation for all ages by providing a positive experience for players, families and officials. The Club shares the clubrooms and the courts with the Victor Harbor Tennis Club on a seasonal basis. The Victor Harbor High School have exclusive use of the courts all year round during school hours.

Licence Proposal

To aid in the preparation of a detailed licence agreement with the Victor Harbor Netball Club, the community is invited to comment on the following principles;

  • An overall licence term of 21 years.
  • The annual rent being a peppercorn rental, consistent with that currently being paid by local sporting groups.
  • The permitted use includes netball, community and social activities.
  • The licensee being responsible for the maintenance of the premises.
  • The Victor Harbor Netball Club has first option for use of the premises between
    1 April to 30 September each year (excluding school hours).
  • The Victor Harbor Netball Club may use / book the facility between 1 October to 31 March each year, subject to the use by the Victor Harbor Tennis Club (excluding school hours).
