Project background
The Encounter Bay Football Club was established in 1921. The clubrooms were built in its current location in 1958 and have been upgraded and extended in 1980 and 2008.
With the focus for continual improvement of the leased area, and for the Club to remain competitive and inclusive in today’s changing environment, the Club is excited to have commenced new modifications of the clubrooms. The introduction of the highly successful women’s football competition in 2017 highlighted the urgency for a major upgrade of the facility. The Club have been successful in obtaining State, Federal and Council grants to fund alterations that provide the flexibility for unisex facilities for football, cricket, netball and umpires. The refurbishment includes the existing male football area, trainer’s room and kitchen/canteen. The standard of the facilities are designed to meet the AFL, SA National Football League (SANFL) and SA Cricket Association (SACA) preferred facility guidelines. The aim is to promote a healthier lifestyle and provide stronger pathways for junior sports.
The Club’s objective is to provide a safe and community minded environment for players of all ages to compete in the local football, cricket and netball competition.
