The City of Victor Harbor is seeking public feedback on a proposal to introduce time limited parking controls for street parks nearby Whalers at 121 Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay.
In July 2017 construction of the Bluff Boat Ramp Carpark extension was completed, which included the existing carpark adjacent to Whalers Restaurant.
Currently, these parks are available to patrons of Whalers Restaurant, patrons of Big Duck Tours and for general parking for those members of the public participating in foreshore and fishing activities.
The City of Victor Harbor has received a request to introduce time limited parking controls for street parks nearby Whalers at 121 Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay. This includes 14 parking spaces at the front of the Whalers Restaurant on Franklin Parade and 39 parking spaces at the rear of the restaurant off Jagger Road.
A clearway is also being considered at an existing driveway crossover/loading zone on Jagger Road.
Given the high-use of the Bluff Boat Ramp area, it is anticipated that additional carparking controls, such as time limited parking, may improve visitor flow and availability of carparks.
