There's no doubt that COVID-19 is impacting on all of us in different ways particularly as we adopt social distancing measures to help keep ourselves and others safe. But social distancing doesn't mean losing connection with others.

In challenging times, the power of community can achieve amazing results. So we have created #COVIDconnections - an online community where you can engage with others, share ideas and learn from other people.

Over the coming weeks and months the City of Victor Harbor will raise questions to provoke our community into thinking how we can all work together to improve our quality of life.

We all have a role to play to help stop the spread of COVID-19. But while we practice social distancing and stay at home, it is really important to take care of ourselves, look out for our neighbours, and even have a little fun.

So how are you dealing with COVID-19? How do you stay connected to your family and friends? How are you managing stress? If you are able to work from home, what tips and tricks do you have to be productive?

Share your stories and ideas to create a resource we all can use to help ourselves and each other during an unprecedented challenge.

You will need to sign up to join our forums and conversations - click the 'Sign Up' banner in the top right corner.

We'll share some of these ideas back to you and the rest of the community through Victor Viewpoint and on our other communications channels.

We hope you'll join this community-centered conversation. Please share this page with friends and family within Victor Harbor. Together, we will get through this.

    Staying socially active

What have you been doing to stay socially active while physically distant from others?

Do you know of, or have joined, any physically distant group activities? Like Zumba via Zoom, or Baby Bounce via YouTube...

Do you have a daily routine to keep socially active? Maybe its a phone call to three friends everyday. A catch-up via Facebook Messenger.  Or a coffee with the neighbour over the fence.

    People and pets

Pets throughout Victor Harbor would be absolutely loving having their human companions at home more. How is your pet helping you through this time?

Are you working from home with your pet supporting you (...or maybe distracting you)?

Is your pet getting more attention with your extra free time?

We'd love to know more. Share your stories or pictures.
